Sony India unveils BRAVIA 5 with AI visuals, rich sound
Sony India has announced the launch of BRAVIA 5, its next-generation television offering, expanding the iconic BRAVIA lineup with a strong focus on AI-driven picture clarity, immersive sound, and gaming readiness.
Positioned as a home entertainment upgrade, BRAVIA 5 features a wide range of enhancements aimed at delivering cinema-level visuals and sound within the living room. Backed by Sony’s XR AI Processor, the model integrates cognitive intelligence to mimic how the human brain perceives visuals and audio.
The BRAVIA 5 range is built with several key upgrades:
-
XR Backlight Master Drive enhances brightness and black levels
-
Dolby Vision and Atmos support creates a theatre-like audio-visual experience
-
Studio Calibrated Mode aligns with creator-intended settings for Netflix, Sony Pictures, and now Prime Video, including live sports
-
Sony Pictures Core enables access to a library of films in near 4K Blu-ray quality, including IMAX Enhanced titles
The inclusion of XR Contrast Booster 10, XR Triluminos Pro, and XR Clear Image provides refined colours, depth, and resolution across diverse content formats—from dramas to sports.
For action-packed sequences, XR Motion Clarity delivers smooth transitions and sharp detail without motion blur. It is powered by real-time scene recognition through Sony’s AI processor.
Audio upgrades are delivered via the Acoustic Multi-Audio system, featuring Sound Positioning Tweeters and down-firing full-range speakers. Dialogue clarity is further improved with Voice Zoom 3, which isolates human voices from background noise.
Gaming gets a front-row upgrade too. BRAVIA 5 includes HDMI 2.1, 4K at 120 Hz, Variable Refresh Rate (VRR), Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM), and Auto HDR Tone Mapping designed specifically for PS5 performance.
