After successfully conducting blood donation camps, Uttarakhand IT Traders Association (UITTA) is set for another act of philanthropy to help victims of the rain ravaged state.
The decision was taken at the association's general body meeting held recently with a plan to best utilize the money collected under its relief fund.
Naresh Batra, president, UITTA ruled out any money donation activity and said that the association is currently assessing the situation for best possible help. He added, "Giving money may not be a right approach. We are rather thinking of giving them products, which they can utilize, like rechargeable solar lanterns."
He mentioned that the decision will be taken in the next 48-72 hours and the project will be implemented by the mid of October.
Earlier, the association, in the month of July, organized a blood donation camp at Carpri Trade Center, Dehradun with the help of Indian Medical Association, aimed at helping the victims.
The president claimed that the blood donation camp collected a record breaking 101 units of blood, more than any trade association in the past.
This year in mid June, huge stream of water along with huge boulders came down the Kedarnath Mountain due to cloud burst and continued heavy rainfall, causing huge casualities.
