With this new mall we will becoming Rs 500 crore company and our ambition is to make a global brand."
Talking on the support from IT vendors, he said, "We are getting lot of support from all the major IT companies, be it manpower, demo products and store branding. In future, we will plan to work together on marketing."
Apart from HOT, Unique also has 9 stores located in Nehru Place, of which 6 IT stores are exclusive and 3 are e-future stores. The company continues to expand its existing stores as well.
The grand opening of this store was witnessed by major IT companies like Intel, Panasonic, Sony, Toshiba and Iris Computers.
While congratulating Unique Infoways on this new venture, Sanjiv Krishen, chairman, Iris Computers and one of the national distributors, said, "We are the largest suppliers to HOT, we are supplying multi brands like Lenovo. As the dynamic of IT consumer products is tilting to the LFRs as it offers wide range of offerings and choices to the customers. Having said that, such stores will going to make an impact on Small IT retailers. In my view, smaller retailers have to offer value additions by giving more information, demos and knowledge to the customers and give specialized services."
Presently, only 15% of IT sales is happening through the LFRs and rest of sales are still coming from the traditional IT channel, Krishen added.
