Kingston unveils redesigned XS Series SSDs with updated aesthetic
Kingston Technology has unveiled a refreshed design for its XS Series external SSDs, featuring a bold new visual identity that includes the brand’s red-haired mascot, Rex. The update pays homage to Kingston’s nearly 40-year legacy in technology innovation and reliability.
Under the banner “Built on Commitment,” the redesign reinforces Kingston’s dedication to user trust and enduring quality—foundations that underpin its professional-grade and everyday storage solutions.
The XS Series comprises two key product lines: the XS2000 for professional use and the XS1000/XS1000R for general consumers.
XS2000: Built for Creators and Professionals
Engineered for content creators, videographers, and media professionals, the XS2000 offers blazing data transfer speeds of up to 2,000 MB/s and capacities reaching 4TB. It supports direct recording in Apple ProRes, making it an ideal companion for high-end production workflows—whether in the studio, on location, or in transit. Compact yet powerful, the XS2000 delivers studio-grade performance in a pocket-sized format.
XS1000/XS1000R: Everyday Reliability Meets Portability
For mainstream users, the XS1000 and XS1000R offer an ideal balance of speed and capacity. With read speeds of up to 1,050 MB/s and storage options up to 2TB, these drives cater to students, travellers, and remote professionals needing dependable file backup and transfer on the go. Whether it’s presentations, personal media, or offline access to essential files, the XS1000 range offers straightforward, lightweight functionality.
The updated look of the XS Series is more than just aesthetic. It reflects Kingston’s evolving brand identity and user-focused design approach. By pairing Rex with the “Built on Commitment” slogan, Kingston signals a deepened focus on developing products centred on real-world user needs.
“Our commitment at Kingston goes beyond technology—it’s about building long-term trust,” said Kevin Wu, VP of Sales, Marketing and Business Development, APAC. “The redesigned XS Series reflects our continued promise to deliver reliable, forward-thinking, and flexible solutions.”
All XS Series drives feature:
