HMD Touch 4G hybrid phone returns

HMD has announced the restocking of the HMD Touch 4G hybrid phone, making the device available again after an initial launch phase that saw limited availability. The phone will go on sale from 6:00 PM on Friday, 19 December 2025.

Positioned as India’s first hybrid phone, the HMD Touch 4G is designed to bridge the gap between traditional feature phones and entry-level smartphones, focusing on essential digital access at a lower price point.

Designed for first-time and value-focused users

Launched in October 2025, the HMD Touch 4G was developed to offer basic smartphone-like experiences without the cost or complexity of a full smartphone. The company has positioned the device for first-time digital users, students and professionals looking for a simple and reliable connected device.

The phone runs on the S30+ Touch platform and combines touchscreen interaction with cloud-based applications and core communication tools.

Touch interface and cloud-based access

The HMD Touch 4G features a 3.2-inch touchscreen display with a touch-based user interface. Cloud apps provide access to entertainment, maps, social news, cricket scores and HTML5 games without relying on local app installations.

This approach is intended to keep the device lightweight while still offering access to commonly used digital services.

Communication centred on Express Chat

A central element of the device is the Express Chat app, which enables video calling, voice messaging and group chats. The app supports communication across platforms and allows users to connect with Android and iOS smartphones.

Express Chat supports 13 languages, extending accessibility for users across different regions and language preferences.

Connectivity, safety and hardware features

The HMD Touch 4G supports Wi-Fi hotspot functionality and operates across 11 global 4G bands. Connectivity features also include Bluetooth, wired and wireless FM radio, and Type-C charging.

For safety, the device includes a dedicated ICE key that provides quick access to emergency calls and Express Chat. HMD is also offering a one-year replacement guarantee, with a protective jelly case included in the box.

Hardware specifications include a 1950 mAh battery with fast charging support, dual cameras, an MP3 player andauto call recording with folder management.

Pricing and availability

The HMD Touch 4G hybrid phone will be available in Cyan and Dark Blue colour options, priced at Rs 3,999. Sales begin on 19 December at 6:00 PM through leading retail outlets, major e-commerce platforms and the company’s official website.

HMD has indicated that stocks are limited, suggesting that availability may be constrained during the restocking phase.
