New head for Confed-ITA

The new president for Confederation of Information Technology Association (Confed-ITA) for FY14 is likely to be from Thoothukudi association.

The ground work for electing the office bearers for the next financial year has already started. Speaking to The DQ Week, K Ravichandran, secretary, Confed-ITA said, "Every year, to give equal opportunity to all the associations, we follow the ‘round robin' system for the posts of president, VP, secretary, treasurer, and two joint secretaries. We have divided the associations into six zones based on the geographical locations. Among the associations in each zone, if one district association gets an opportunity in a year, the next year, another association from the same zone will stand the chance. In that way, the new head for the next fiscal will be either from Thoothukudi or Kanyakumari or Tirunelveli. The associations will decide and elect one member who will head the Confed-ITA."

The current team, which has its head from the Trichy zone, is also conducting its third EC meeting in Tirupur on September 22.
