However, some sources inside the Confed-ITA told The DQWeek that Babu, who was responsible for the printing of T-shirts during the Confed-ITA summit held a month before, had delayed the payment, and an approximate amount of Rs 42,000 was not paid to the T-shirt company. It is also said that the association members did not respond properly to the T-shirt manufacturer and since he did not receive proper response, the textile company, in a mail to the association members, had stated that it will take the issue legally.

However, within a few days, the issue was sorted out and in a subsequent mail the T-shirt manufacturer sought apologies for his previous mail.

Besides this, few members from Confed-ITA called The DQWeek and raised various questions and charged allegations over this issue stating that the financial transactions of the association are not in safe hands. However, when contacted, Babu denied all the charges leveled against him. "I am leaving only because of my business activities abroad. I cannot concentrate on two things at a time and hence I have put in my papers," he said. He also clarified that his resignation has nothing to do with this issue. "There are some pending payments which will take time for processing. However, the complete statement of the money spent will be submitted in a week or two," he added. Stating the allegations against him as ‘false', he said that the resignation is his own choice.

According to Confed-ITA, the Tirupur association has to provide a secretary for the association. "It was shocking when Babu gave his resignation. I was told that he was searching for a job or some business opportunity," said Shanmugam, president, Tirupur association. "We conducted an emergency meeting and forwarded his resignation to the Confed authorities. Also, we were asked to provide a new secretary for the association, for which we, the district association, nominated Ravichandran of Jyothi agencies, Tirupur," he said. However, he said he had no idea of the issue in Confed-ITA. "We, as a district association, cannot get involved in the issues of Confed association," he concluded.

When contacted, the president of the association, A Muthuswamy, who is about to complete his tenure, said, "I have not received any complaint on this issue."

The resignation of Babu, who is known as one of the most active members in the association, has created much chaos and confusions among the channel partners.
