The new office bearers for FY11 of the Confederation of Information Technology Associations (Confed-ITA), the apex body of various district associations of Tamil Nadu will be officially announced during the EC meeting which is about to be held in Puducherry on November 10. The new office bearers will assume duty from April 1, 2011 and will hold position for the entire year. The reason for electing the members well-inadvance is that those members have to get trained with the working of the association so as to run the association successfully for the whole year.

"After working closely with the present member crew, handing over the association to the new members will make the job easier for them after assuming charge," said a source from the present offi ce bearers team. Even though there has not been any offi cial announcement on the offi ce bearers, according to some believable sources from Confed-ITA, B Kuberan from Trichy is likely to be elected as the president.

K Babu from Tirupur (secretary), S Ravikumar from Puducherry (treasurer), R Meenakshi Sundaram from Tuticorin, M P Ravichandran from Namakkal and J Ramesh Kumar from Theni are expected to be the other members. It is also said that the members have got the approval and the official announcement will come during the Executive Committee (EC ) meeting which is about to happen at Puducherry on November 10. However, all the aforesaid members, while contacted, refused to comment on any of the developments. "We cannot reveal anything until the names of the members are announced officially," a going-to be elected member said on a condition of anonymity. Some of the key tasks to be taken by the new members before taking charge are generating funds for the association for the coming fi scal and conducting two summits. However, no present EC member from Confed-ITA was available to comment on the member-electoral process.
