Mumbai based Mediaman Infotech has introduced its own range of flash products in the market. The launched products, Class 10 cards, are high speed cards for professional photographers, and flash drive and flash cards for smartphones (8 GB, 16 GB, 32 GB, and 64 GB). It is already among the oldest and strongest distributors for Transcend's memory products.

Speaking to The DQ Week, Dushyant Mehta, CMD, Mediaman Infotech, said, "Overall, we did not witness any remarkable growth movement owing to a 30% drop in customer buying sentiment, shortage of devices owing to floods in Thailand, and finally inconsistent dollar pricing. But the company managed to keep its margins afloat. Moreover, we decided to launch our own range to sustain the profitability."

The company attributed the need to launch their own range to the the growing requirement from the consumers. "There seems to be a higher scope in flash business. The fast growth rate of telecommunications industry and a higher usage of mobile phones have opened new avenues for players like us. Apart from this, there are opportunities in the newly emerging gadgets in the gaming and entertainment industries. We are quite excited to launch our own brand and we don't see any overlapping with ours and competitive product," Mehta added.

In addition, the company was appointed as a national distributor by ASRock for its motherboards. In the current financial year, the company has decided to increase its focus on server and gaming motherboards. It is also getting into networking business in a big way and soon it will tie- up with networking companies.
