Huawei Collaborates with Intel

Huawei has collaborated with Intel. The strategic alliance aims at delivering public cloud solutions for global telecoms carriers. By combining Intel’s technology with Huawei’s experience in global information and communications technology solutions, the companies aim to provide carriers with greater access to high-quality, innovative technologies and solutions as they deliver carrier grade cloud services to enterprises and individual end-users.

Zheng Yelai, president of Huawei’s IT Product Line, said, “We are honored to strengthen our partnership with Intel, the world leader in computing. By working together, we aim to provide strong support for the upcoming business transformation among carriers across the globe.”

Working together, Huawei and Intel plan to concentrate their efforts on developing optimized and cost-efficient hardware and software platforms for telecoms carriers to use as they deploy cloud-specific usage models across server, storage, network and infrastructure management technologies.

Jason Waxman, VP and GM, Cloud Platforms Group, Intel Corporation, said, “Industry collaboration will foster innovation to deliver the latest Cloud technology to telecommunications service providers. Huawei’s efforts with Intel to develop the next generation FusionSphere products using Intel technology will enable service providers to deliver high performing, secure, and agile cloud services.”

The companies will also drive performance improvements and security enhancements for Huawei’s FusionSphere running on Intel architecture, DPDK, and Open vSwitch. This will increase network virtualization performance of Huawei’s platforms, providing carriers with a robust cloud solution improves efficiency and management, and lowers the total cost of operation (TCO) as they deploy cloud services and transform their traditional data centers into cloud data centers.
