FITAG conducts Cricket Tournament 2013

Gujarat-based Federation of Information and Technology (FITAG) recently organised FITAG Cricket Tournament 2013, wherein major association representative members from across Gujarat participated. The tournament which is being held for the third consecutive year was organized at Umiya Campus, S. G. Highway, Ahmedabad on 23rd and 24th March 2013.

Dipen Bhatt, president, Nadiad Computer Merchant Association (NCMA) said, "We hope such type of sports events are conducted every year. We are happy to be part of this tournament though winning or being defeated is the last concern but such event creates an opportunity to strengthen our associations with other channel partners from other regions of the state. It definitely strengthens the overall fraternity of channel partners across Gujarat." On similar lines, Mitesh Dave, vice president, FITAG said "This type of cricket tournament brings all the association members close and we can have a build good relationships between all association members of Gujarat. This event provides each one of us with a chance to interact with members from other regions which improves the understanding amongst the community and in turns its enables us to create a healthier IT fraternity."

In this tournament there were 8 league matches which were played amongst 16 teams of different associations and one was that from the sponsor team of FITAG committee team. The association who had taken part in this tournament are Gandhinagar Computer Hardware Association (GCHA), Nadiad Computer Merchant Association (NCMA), Ahmedabad Computer Merchants Association (ACMA 1), Ahmedabad Computer Merchants Association (ACMA 2), Baroda IT Association (BITA 1), Baroda IT Association (BITA 2)., Palanpur IT Association (PITA), Mehsana Computer Merchant Association (MCMA), Anand Vidyanagar Information Technology Association (AVITA), Rajkot Computer Traders Association (RCTA), Gandhidham IT Association (GITA), Surendranagar Computer Merchants Association (SCMA), Patan Computer Merchants Association (PCMA), and Ankleshwar Bharuch IT Association (ABITA)

This cricket tournament was exclusive for IT associations across the Gujarat state, where the match was of 10 overs each played with a tennis ball. The organizers had arranged fro professionals umpires, scorers,and even commentators. In addition, during the entire tournament the teams were provided with breakfast, tea-coffee, soft drinks and lunch.

Kaushik Pandya, immediate past president, FITAG said, "This cricket tournament was organized with aim to bring all the association teams come closer and create an environment to enjoy a break from the routine life. We had great response of the IT fraternity and also we had a good turnout of audience for both the days."

FITAG-president, Yogesh Thakkar said, "We are feeling really proud to have organized this tournament for the 3rd consecutive year. Every year the response from the channel community has been positive and the number of partners participating have only increased. Also, we had get good response from all the sponsors and we plan to continue with this initiative." Sponsors for this tournament were GDP associates, Smart Station, Care office Equipment Ltd, Data Tech Computers, Baroda IT association (BITA), Smile Tablet, Trend Micro,Fujitsu, and Samsung .

Sejal Patel, joint secretary, FITAG said, "We are happy to see all the associations playing amongst each other and we are really happy for organizing this sports event. Our entire team had worked hard for this entire tournament and to makes this event successfully." He further added, "Congratulations to champion team BITA 2 and Runners up team GDP Gandhinagar." Gaurang Vyas, secretary and Mahesh Patel, treasurer, FITAG expressed similar opinions.
