With associations across the state taking measures to implement uniform service charge (USC) in their region, Cholamandalam Information Technology Association (CMITA), Kumbakonam, also, does not want to stay out of the league. Henceforth, all the 30 odd members will collect uniform charge for every service call they attend.
Explaining the new implementation, R Ramamoorthy, president, CMITA said, "Following various associations, we have also planned to implement uniform service charges in our region effective July 15, 2012. By implementing this, a multi-color size A4 lamination sheet holding the chart that explains the service charges will be pasted in the office of every member." Ramamoorthy also added that the charges were formulated considering factors like power consumption, hike in the petrol/diesel price, wages of the staff, etc. The association calculated the average calls made by a service engineer on a given day and has finalized the service charges.
Apart from that, the association has planned to conduct an IT Expo in the month of September and a business development leadership program shortly. Plans are also in place to distribute T-Shirts for all the members with the association's logo printed on it.
