Bitdefender intros mobile security solution

Post the overhaul of distribution system in the country, Romanian anti-virus company Bitdefender has now introduced mobile security products catering to android based mobile devices in India.

Commenting on the launch, Arghya Sanyal, South Asia channel director, Bitdefender said, "Bitdefender Mobile Security makes sure that your phone is secure and your privacy is protected. The application offers robust defense against invasion of viruses and theft, while saving battery power for its core purpose of communication."

Bitdefender Mobile Security, which weds in-the-cloud technology to the company's years of experience on the front lines of battle against e-threats, is available immediately in India. The product is priced at approx Rs 290 plus tax.

In addition, the company has rolled out a channel scheme to entice the channel partners. Sanyal said, "Currently, we are running a scheme for JFMA and this will include mobile security too. There are eight slabs in it wherein a partner can win from a pen drive to a trip to Thailand as per the billing they do in the quarter.

Earlier, Bitdefender revamped its distribution model and had decided to move away from its regional model to a national distribution model, with the appointment of Mumbai based Venktron Digital Systems as its exclusive national distributor for its home and business range of software solutions. Adding to this, Sanyal said, "Venktron has 16 offices all over India and each branch has an average of 100 existing partners. It caters to the requirement of more than 1600 plus channel partners all over India. In addition, we will also tap mobile and OEM partners in each and every region."
