ASIRT Techday– a quick learning session

After an illuminating 'Swear By The Deep Sea' session on business prudence in August, ASIRT took the next step to salvage IT services industry from the brink of impending disaster. The landmark 'ASIRT Tool - Know Your Costs' was demonstrated live, uncovering the ease of use and how 20 minutes can transform a business forever.

The ASIRT Tool is a free, freely downloadable and simple to use excel sheet that presents a clear, unambiguous snap-shot of business, profitability and helps build an effective business strategy.

Virtually any business can use the ASIRT Evolve Tool to segregate their cost and earnings per vertical to understand where the money comes from, where it goes and what is the profitability per vertical as demonstrated ASIRT president Kshitij M Kotak. "Using the ASIRT Evolve Tool a businessman can analyse his professionally which vertical he needs to focus on; which vertical provides maximum and minimum profitability, which vertical bleeds his business in terms of resource drain and money. This financial self-realization will ultimately lead businesses to price themselves right on the basis of business goals, costs and profitability aspirations," said Kotak.

Kotak announced that the ASIRT Evolve Tool - Know Your Costs has been sent to over 2,2000 system integrators across the country so that not just members but the entire industry evolves to a brighter future. Meanwhile, on a lighter note, when a participant asked what if they still continue to do so, Kotak riposted, "Below cost selling shut down retailers, is bleeding oil companies and now as we know can dissolve airlines...".

The session was followed by ASIRT Techday that included personal technology sessions that are mostly an ignored part of any CEO and business owners life. The session had the theme 'Building an image and avoiding life-style ailments.'

The 'Image Management' seminar was presented by Monika Kaushik, director and chief consultant of MYI: Morph Your Image Management Consultancy. She started with "You never get a second chance to make the first impression," and went on to explain how a good first impression is like an investment one can depend upon, clearly interlinking success, influence and communication. She then gave ASIRT members tips to achieve this with conviction explaining the various aspects of image building viz. clothes, body language and etiquette, grooming and hygiene and finally, vocal communication. She clearly left members with a realization that an image building process, if incorporated as a skill, will automatically affect every aspect of life including the profitability of business.

Next was an enthralling talk round by renowned physical therapist Rajani Patil, who holds 12 years of experience in inculcating right habits and correct posture for CEO for better health and high productivity and profits. Rajani gave practical tips on using correct posture in our daily life and also showed basic exercises that we can do in our busy schedules.

To sum it up, the ASIRT Techday added value with strong messages about image projection and personal health aspects; aspects that go a long way towards professional success.
