All Kerala Information Technology Dealers Association (AKITDA) has planned to conduct their annual state meeting in the mid of August. During the meeting, the new president is likely to be elected.
Speaking to ‘The DQ Week', Suresh Babu, President, AKITDA, told, "We have planned to conduct the meeting in the middle of August. However the dates are yet to get finalized." He also said that right from the fixing of dates, till finalizing the sponsors will be decided once the state general secretary Jothi Sankar, who is on a foreign trip is back.
"As for the state bodies are concerned, out of 14 districts, more than 10 districts have successfully elected their district president and the annual meeting will be conducted before September at any cost", Suresh said further adding that around 400 to 500 members are expected for the meeting. He also told that the next president is likely to come either from Ernakulam or Kottayam district. "We first elect the president who will later decide his office bearers team which includes state secretary, state treasurer, state complaint cell chairman and public relations officer." Speaking on the venue Suresh said that places are in the lookout preferably in Ernakulam. "We also have plans to conduct one-day exhibition on the day where a state council meet, state executive meet will take place", he further added.
Speaking on the prospective president candidate, Suresh said, "Even though we call it elections, till date, there has not been any voice against the one who is elected by the members unanimously. However, if there are more than one person showing interests in participating in the polls, we will conduct an election."
