Zee Interactive Learning Systems Ltd (ZILS) and Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) have signed an MoU under which ZILS would provide IT training to the students and members of
ICSI.
Under the alliance agreement, ZILS would exclusively provide all direct training for ICSI students and members to undergo the ICSI approved course. ICSI together with ZILS has devised the course. The course would be of 70 hours duration to be conducted in half-hour slots on alternate days. Students/members would be awarded certificates on successful completion of the ICSI-ZILS IT course.
There are two plans for the course fee. Under plan A, the course fee is Rs 1,250 for each student wherein he/she has to share the computer with another student. In plan B, which costs Rs 1,500 a students has a computer for himself and does not have to share it with someone.
The course has been specially designed for ICSI keeping in mind the new CS curriculum. The ICSI accredited course would be provided by AILS throughout the country at 150 Zed CA centers. It would include topics such as MS Office, Networking/client server concept, Internet, e-mail and website awareness, computer application to secretarial department and digital signature.
Speaking on the reason of the need of such a training program, Dr PVS Jagan Mohan Rao, President, ICSI, said that the ability to use computers has become indispensable to career, educational, social and cultural environment. The MoU has been signed so that the institute can embark upon a new initiative in equipping its members and students with basic computer skills and IT fundamentals.
