Zenith launches 'affordable' laptops for SOHO users

Mumbai-based, Zenith Computers recently launched three ultra
portable laptops-Zenith Admirale, Zenith Director and Zenith Presidio laptop
in New Delhi. The laptops are aimed at SOHO and consumer markets and have been
valued at affordable prices. At a price range starting from Rs 24,990 -the
laptops will provide consumers with on-site warranty services rather than carry
in warranty offered by MNCs. The laptops are also available with desired and
advanced configurations and there is no need for upgrading for at least
four-five years.

Zenith's new range of laptops will provide Intel Pentium dual
core processor with Microsoft Vista Starter Edition. While the Admirale laptop
is valued at

Rs 28,490, Director Laptop is available at a price of Rs 28,490 and the Presidio
Laptop is valued at Rs 27,990.

Talking about the new range of models, Raj Sharaf, Chairman and
MD, Zenith Computers said, "This launch will have a far reaching effect and
we expect the prices of laptops to go down considerably. MNCs and other leading
vendors will also be slashing the rates of their laptops/desktops." He also
added that the aggressive pricing strategy has made computing affordable in
India.

The laptops will cost 20 percent less than other brands and come
with a warranty of one year. "With our new range of laptops we will reach
out to those buyers who are looking for performance, coupled with affordable
price," stated Saraf.

The new models will be rolled out in the market through Zenith's
retail outlet, Zenith PC World showrooms across the country. At present the
company has

500 Zenith PC World and 1,000 authorized dealers in over 200 cities. Zenith
currently sells desktops and laptops in its own brand name in Middle East, South
Africa, South America, and eastern Europe among others. Zenith laptops will also
be sold at a price less than $500 in international markets.
