The company has introduced seven new notebooks and is expecting laptop
revenue to go up by 300-400 percent

Zenith Computers has launched a range of seven new laptops priced between Rs
32,000 and Rs 70,000. The company claims that the range which it terms 'the
power of 7' could help companies equip their entire workforce with technology.

Announcing the launch of the new notebooks, Zenith CMD Raj Saraf said,
"With the price difference between lap-tops and desktops coming down by
25-30 percent, we are confident that the demand for our laptops will be high. We
hope that with this release, our growth in laptop revenues will go up by 300-400
percent."

The new notebook range start with the basic 'Salespro' based on Intel
Celeron priced at Rs 32,000 aimed at sales force, students and field perso-nnel.
Other models include the 'Executive' model which is Intel Pentium 4 based
and is tar-geted at mid-management and executives; 'Analyst' which is meant
for professionals and students; 'Performer, a hi-per-formance laptop which can
support Prescott and 'Dire-ctor'-an Intel Centrino based laptop priced at
Rs 54,000 is aimed at CEOs, CIOs and deci-sion-makers. A wide screen 15.4-inch
wide WXGA laptop with Intel Centrino called 'Stra-tegist' is priced at Rs
61,000.

The company also hopes to tap the premium segment with its high-end model
called Presidio, which costs Rs 70,000 and weighs as less as one kg. He also
informed that compa-nies like Seimens, SBI, Sony and the Indian Business Acade-my,
Bangalore have already booked orders.
