Zebra Technologies Europe, a global provider of printing solutions for
business improvement and security applications across 90 countries is now
looking at channel expansion plans across India in an effort to increase it's
presence across all business sectors.
The company has appointed Ingram Micro and Online Distribution as it's dual
distributors in India. “After our first partner program in January this year, we
selected Ingram Micro on the consideration of it's presence across India and the
logistical support it has,” commented Sailesh Deshmukh, Country Head-India,
Zebra Technologies.
With it's recent commitment to penetrate the SMB sector in B and C-class
cities, especially in West Bengal, Bihar, Orissa and Maharashtra, Zebra is now
looking forward to adding another 110 resellers in it's existing stock of 60.
As a strategy for market penetration in these cities, Zebra is organizing
reseller events, providing product information, demonstraÂtions and conducting
seminars to promote their products. Already listed in NASDAQ, and an ISO 9000
company, Zebra will soon be listed in the Indian Stock Exchange by the end of
September.
Zebra is proviÂding wireless network enabled ticket and checÂking solutions
through its RFID and Bluetooth-WiFi printers. It is also providing complete
labeling solutions to Tata Motors.
However, the company is now targeting to bring in hospitality and
entertainÂment segments inside its realm. “We are presently talking to major
hospitals and health-care units across South-East Asia to incorporate Zebra
printers for labeling, asset tracking and maintenance records. Already the deal
has been finalized with Shirdi Sai Baba Hospital in Puttaparthi, Andhra Pradesh.
Also,
we are focusing on multiplexes and the big shopping malls to offer complete
printing solutions,” Deshmukh added.
