Zebion opens electronics variety store in Aurangabad

Bollywood actress and model, Mugdha Godse, was in Aurangabad for the launch of Zone Zebion, a modern electronics retail store offering consumers a large variety of electronics products, segregated into three main genres - security systems, computer peripherals and sound systems. The store located in Nirala Bazaar Aurangabad, is Zebion’s first store in Maharashtra after considerable success in South India, according to Zebion’s spokesperson. In a formal statement to the press, Zebion’s executive team asserted that they were at the primary stage of what will become a major national network of hundreds of specialty stores, over the next five years.

Zebion, an electronics vendor headquartered in Pune, is a growing national brand, who have recently forayed into retail, after being a purely channel driven company since its inception in 2004.

Abhishek Lodha, Director, Zebion, explained “Given that an increasing number of consumers today are empowered with extensive information mostly gleaned from online sources, we see the purpose of the Zone Zebion store to be not just about shopping, but also about validating the choice consumers have already made before they entered through the door. We recognize that when it comes to in-store experience, consumer expectations are high, and always getting higher. Therefore we have been selective and meticulous about things like store design, comfort, ambiance, staff courtesy, exhaustive explanations and accurate counsel. I also believe the franchise network shall act as a complimentary supply chain member within Zebion’s value chain – complementing the efforts of other channel partners like distributors and dealers.”

At a press gathering in Nirala Bazaar, Mugdha Godse inaugurated the store while Zebion’s board of directors announced the launch of their National Franchise Programme in Maharashtra. Zebion’s COO, Abhinandan Dagale explained, “Zone Zebion shall be driven entirely through franchising. It has a unique signature look and offers buyers a wide assortment of choice under the same roof. We have had great success in South India and we are certain to repeat that in the West Zone. Although some forms of franchising have become prevalent in India, it is very rare in the electronics field, and Zebion is a pioneer in ushering in the franchise system to the electronics sub-sector”.

The hallmark of the store is the distinctive ‘Troika Format’; there are three distinct zones corresponding to Zebion’s three business verticals. The Troika consists of Technopedia (the zone for computer peripherals), Sound Souk (the zone for sound systems) and The Strongroom (the zone for security systems).
