XPrep Makes E-Assessment of Subjective Tests Possible

XPrep launched a new feature on its app which allows tutors to grade subjective tests online; an issue faced by many tutors while conducting assessments. With the newly updated version, students can upload their subjective answer sheets on the app using an image sharing functionality; the tutor is then able to remark, comment and assess the test on the app itself using the new grading technique based on an overlay of swiping gestures.

XPrep, a mobile-first platform, is used by tuition centres and coaching institutes to conduct all their pre and post-classroom engagement activities with the kids and their parents on a continual basis.

Till now, XPrep allowed tutors to conduct their routine tasks like information dissemination, objective assessment conductance and class notifications automatically on the app. With this new feature, tutors will also be able to assess subjective tests on the app, which will cumulatively allow them to perform all of their indirect teaching tasks via the mobile app, with minimal intervention.

Mukul Rustagi, CEO, XPrep commented, “We saw that image sharing as a technology has seen strong adoption, especially in social messaging apps. A simplistic technique is probably the reason why it has caught with the gen-z and non-millennials alike. Seeing as to how much grading sheets form a part of the curriculum and absorb a tutor’s time, we decided to leverage the adoption.”

“The value proposition is also strengthened by an in-product chat tool where the tutor can share supporting notes or answer keys to make the process a full stack solution”, he added.

The product fills the gap between the tutor-parent community by ensuring a continual and seamless engagement within the ecosystem. The team believes that the new addition will allow tutors to cut time on ancillary activities and boost their classroom teaching time in exchange.

The venture’s aim is to empower educators and allow them to personalise tutoring with the use of technology. With this vision in mind, XPrep allows tutors to understand personalised learning curves of kids within a batch using advanced reporting and analytics. Going further, the company aims to add grading templates which’ll be useful for understanding and mapping a student’s responses and his assessment patterns.

The company recently raised funding from a Dutch VC firm, Rising Stars and a clutch of other angels. It is also a part of Facebook’s Fbstart programme.
