Xerox opens customer service center in India

Xerox Modicorp Ltd, a player in the document management industry, has
launched its "Ask Xerox"

Welcome Center to further improve its customer services across the country.
The in-bound Welcome Center will offer a single phone number access
(+91-39012000) across India and will operate on a 24x7 basis. Xerox has partne-red
with Spanco Telesystems, a telecom integrator for tele-com carriers in India,
for mana-ging this facility.

According to the press rele-ase, the center will provide international
standards of handling calls uniformly across the country by int-roducing systems
like IVR. Further, to cater to the ling-uistic needs of the customers, Xerox
will app-oint agents in three different languages (Tamil, Malayalam and Beng-ali)
apart from English and Hindi for specific customer queries.

The "Ask Xerox" team will log customer queries for Xerox's entire
suite of office products. Customers can use this facility to make enquiries on
new products, their features and prices. Toner, cartridges and other supplies
can be purchased over the phone itself. Once the query is registe-red the call
will be passed to the relevant Xerox sales and service partner of that location.

Outlining the rationale beh-ind the center, Gitanjali Puri, Deputy GM
(Corporate Communications), Xerox Modicorp said, "This initia-tive is in
line with Xerox's str-ategy to provide value added services to our customers
on a 24x7 basis across the country. The "Ask Xerox" Welcome Center
will provide customers with up to date and relevant information in a timely
manner thereby ens-uring higher levels of custo-mer satisfaction."

She added, "In order to provide enhanced convenience to the customers,
all the calls will be charged at local call rates irrespective of the source of
the call. We will also use the welcome center to generate and strengthen sales
and consumables pipeline."
