Wipro unveils new range of Workgroup UPS

Wipro ePeripherals (WeP), an IT peripheral solutions and service company, has announced the launch of eMerge UPS 1000 and UPS 1000e. Both the products are line-interactive 1KVA UPS and specifically target Small Workgroup protection. While eMerge UPS 1000 provides 20 minutes backup with two PCs, eMerge UPS 1000e has a provision to extend the backup time by adding additional eMerge 1000e backup extender.

Both eMerge 1000 and 1000e come equipped with the 'e-mergemon' intelligent Power Management software that transforms the UPS into an 'intelligent power manager'. It ensures systematic shutdown and saving of data in the event of a power-cut and allows to program 'shutdown' and 'restart' sequences to facilitate operation of the UPS without user intervention. The software also enables a UPS monitoring screen on the PC, which allows one to access a variety of information on the UPS at the click of a mouse.

The eMerge UPS's also cater to the full requirements of two to three PCs along with printers and accessories like a modem or a scanner.

The 'Cyberguard' feature ensures that eMerge UPS's protect the systems from power surges through telephone lines. The Sleep Mode feature prevents discharge of batteries when no load is connected, ensuring that the battery lasts longer.

Wipro ePeripherals also announced that it has commenced manufacturing of UPS at its Hyderabad unit.
