Wipro corporate audit wins global quality award

Wipro Ltd has announced that its Corporate Audit function has been awarded the Commitment to Quality Improvement Award instituted by the Institute of Internal Auditors, Florida, USA. Wipro is the first Indian company to be conferred this award. The award was presented at the International Conference of the Institute of Internal Auditors held at Washington DC. Wipro was the only Asian company to receive this award this year. 

The award recognizes Internal Auditing departments throughout the world for their current achievements and their commitment to continued improvement in the future. It is also in recognition of the knowledge, skills, and disciplines of the Internal Auditing Staff, their commitment to carry out their mission within the organization and their measurable contributions to the profession of Internal auditing.

Wipro's Corporate Audit department has a mix of professionals comprising of Chartered Accountants, Cost Accountants and Business school graduates. Certified under the ISO 9001-2000 standards, the Department is an independent function with a direct functional reporting to the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors.
