Over 300 channel partners from across western part of the country gathered to
cheer the winners at the 11th annual DQ Week awards, which were held in Mumbai.
The event saw partners from the western region being honored for their
outstanding performance during FY 08-09.
While Sify was the title sponsor for the awards night, other vendors who were
associated with the awards included D-Link and DigiLink, K7 Computing, Supertron
Electronics, Delta and Lexmark. While Kingston was the Memory Partner, the
Beverage Partner was Royal Challenge and Information Infrastructure Award
Partner was EMC.
The evening commenced with a speech from Ibrahim Ahmad, Group Editor, The DQ
Week who spoke about the significant role played by the channel partners in
driving the IT industry successfully. This was followed by a visual presentation
from Sify wherein they provided an insight into the various products and
initiatives being introduced for the channel partners. Anil Pant, VP-Channel
Sales, Sify and Shiv Nath Ghosh, VP-Enterprise Application Services, Sify
suggested ways to ensure profits during the slowdown. Sachin Mahajan of Infinite
Net Solutions, one of Sify's prominent partners in Mumbai threw light on the
edge that his business acquired after partnering with Sify.
The event was also supported by Mumbai-based Trade Association of Information
Technology (TAIT). During the event, Rushabh Shah, TAIT member gave a brief
about TAIT and its upcoming expo COM IT. Praveen Dhoka and Umang Mehta of TAIT
presented The DQ Week-TAIT Upcoming Entrepreneur Award to Atul Shah and Haresh
Gadda of Mumbai-based Network Techlabs.
The largest round of applause was when TAIT was handed over the trophy for
being the Best IT Association of India. The award was conferred on TAIT after a
countrywide survey which was done by DQ Channels and IDC. The association took
home the trophy for the fourth time in a row. The entire team of TAIT gathered
on the stage to receive the trophy.
Thanking The DQ Week and DQ Channels team, Rushab Shah of TAIT shared, “We
would keep the momentum going and will raise issues affecting the IT channel
partners across the city.”
Every year, the annual awards are decided by an independent jury, comprising
of eminent personalities of the IT industry, who are closely aligned with the
channel partners.
