CMDA conducts vendor meet 2013

Pune-based, Computers and Media Dealers Association (CMDA) on October 3, 2013 hosted CMDA Vendor Meet 2013 at Hotel Ramee Grand, recently.

The event was exclusively for representatives of vendors and national distributors and was attended by 80 representatives from 54 vendors, service support and national distributors.

The objective of the meet was to discuss and understand the current business challenges of partners and decide the action plan to strengthen the channel and business environment.

The event was kicked off by Vinod Kulkarni, the project leader, followed by an introductory speech by Rahul Khurd, secretary of CMDA. The highlight of the event was the panel discussion between vendor, national distributors, regional distributors, system integrators, and service center heads.

The panelists included Amitabh Mukherjee, RSM-West, HP India, Vinay Shetty, country manager, Asus India, Mridul Saran, DGM-West, Ingram Micro, Suryakant Sharma, service head, Accel Frontline, Suresh Joshi, chairman and MD, Cache Technologies and Sanjeev Pathare, owner, Computer Shoppe.

Khurd said, "All the vendor representatives have noted the concerns, issues and agreed to take corrective actions by way of arranging channel upliftment programs, organising technical and sales training for owners and partners team, implementation of DOA policies, On-Line and LFR issues and Service Support related issues of partners and regional distributors." He further added, "The discussion took place in a very healthy environment. The panel also had a detailed discussion on service and support related issues and the vendor and panel members have agreed to follow required process to get faster response."

In addition to this, during this event CMDA announced Members Choice of Best Vendor Awards chosen by CMDA members through online survey conducted by CMDA for following categories.

CMDA president Ratnesh Rathi asked all vendors to support them during their channel development programs and make the initiative a successful one.
