Wellwin to market AVerMedia products in India

Chennai-based Wellwin Industry, a leading IT hardware distribution company in the country, has tied-up with Taiwan-based AVerMedia Technologies Inc for distributing its multimedia and presentation products in India. Initially, the company will market products such as AVerCam, AVer VDO Mate, AVerKey Pro, AVer EZ Capture and AVerMedia JOYTV. 

"While most of the AVerMedia products we deal with are focussed on the fast growing home segment, AVerKey Pro series is mainly targeted on corporate customers," said S Sudhir, General Manager, Wellwin Industry Limited.

The multimedia and presentation products are priced in the range of Rs 2,750 to Rs 4,000. "The basic reasons which made us to enter into partnership with AVerMedia are, the quality of solution, pricing, technology and business background of the company," he said.

Wellwin, with its strong channel network of 700 plus business partners across India, plans to get major business from the SOHO segment, with AVerMedia products. "We expect to do more than Rs 25 crore of business, in the next one year, through this deal. Out of which SOHO market would be contributing around 75 percent of the business," said Sudhir.

In multimedia series, the company would add two more products, AVer TV and AVer TV Studio, which are advanced in features, shortly. Similarly, in presentation line, AVerKey 300, AVerKey 500 and AVer ePack are to be introduced in the market. "Soon, Wellwin would emerge as a key player for AVerMedia in India," he claimed.

Also, Wellwin is in the process of closing a deal with an US-based networking company for representing its wide area wireless networking products in India. "Probably, we would become the exclusive distributor here," added Sudhir.

The company has registered a revenue of Rs 46 crore last year and hopes to cross Rs 80 crore by March 2001.
