As the last event of the 10th annual The DQ Week awards wrapped up in Mumbai
last week there was a sense of achievement and also of sadness. Achievement
because in a space of three months from July to September we not only brought
out four mammoth issues which featured premier channel partners from 120 cities
in the country but had also felicitated 164 channel partners across India-40 in
North, 56 in South, 29 in East and 39 in West. Isn't that something?
To add to that, almost 1,700 channel partners and representatives from major
vendors took time out to attend our events in various cities, in some instances
changing last minute flight plans and rescheduling important meetings. Such
gestures are things that make you want to keep doing such events every month.

The three months are probably the most maddening of our otherwise busy
existence as a weekly newspaper, tracking developments in the vibrant sector
that the IT channel space is. There are listings to be made, information to be
updated, jury meetings to be held, awards to be given away, winners to be
informed and channel partners to be invited. On the awards day, the excitement
starts from the morning as the annual issue comes out and in the evening it is
hectic work as winners are applauded.
This year the special feature was the support that IT channel associations
gave us. In North it was PCAIT and CMDA-Delhi, in South AIT, in East Compass and
in West TAIT. We also instituted awards with them to honor upcoming talent.
And it's all possible because there are various people who work back stage
tirelessly. The reporters, sales team, people at desk and design work non-stop
to make the issues possible. Then there are the marketing and events teams who
make our fabulous awards night possible every year. They are actually the
un-sung heroes in our tale, which becomes a success because so many of you
shower us with your appreciation for a job well done.
After the hectic schedule of three months when life returns to its normal
pace, it is a bittersweet experience. We are happy to have completed another
batch of annual issues but we are also sad because we get used to the
overwhelming love and appreciation that we get from all of you.
Since there is no way I would be able to personally thank each and everyone
who contributed in their own way to making our annual APR issue and awards night
a success, I take this opportunity to thank all of you for supporting us year
after year and making our awards such a success. I am truly and deeply thankful!
