WatchGuard technologies eyes 15% of the total network security market in India

WatchGuard Technologies, an integrated security appliance vendor and services provider, plans to capture 15% of the total network security market in India, primarily from UTM deployments, by the end of FY 2013-14.

Currently, UTM is one of the biggest growth drivers for Watch Guard along with email security, access point solutions and VPN services.

Based in Delhi, Mohit Puri, Country Manager, WatchGuard Technologies (India-SAARC) said that in the last financial year WatchGuard stood at 10% of the total market share in networking security space, and 90% of business in India came through UTM service deployments.

He stated, "Our growth has been consistent and we expect another pie of 5% of the total market share. Last financial year, we grew by 30 %--the best in the last four years."

SMB is one of the major focuses of WatchGuard contributing 60% to the total businesses, which Puri prefers to call it as‘sweet spot'.

On the channels front, Watch Guard recently concluded 2-day training event for partners in three cities: Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai and plans to make it to another 3 cities. Currently it operates with 120 partners in India.

Adding on partner programs, he says, "We are also about to launch a Managed Security Services (WSP-MSS) program for partners for keeping them at the top of the customers. This will be a revamped launch and more organized than before."
