VMWare holds partner exchange summit in Mumbai

Virtualization solutions provider, VMWare organized VMWare partner exchange 2014 in Mumbai at Hotel Renaissance. This year the company has based the event on the theme 'Master the new reality'. This meet is part of a multi-city partner meet planned to be held in key cities across India.

VMWare partner exchange 2014 has had channel partners as well as vendor representatives in numbers. The morning session had more 500 delegates attending it.

This year the company is driving as well promoting strongly the concept of software defined data centers (SDD). It is quite evident that the virtualization solutions provider is banking heavily on SDD backed ny updates rolled out by the company like for example solutions around software defined networking.

The keynote session was delivered by Pat Gelsinger, CEO, VMWare.

Ganesan Arumugam, partner sales director, VMWare India said,  "Consistent,  predictable and profitable are the three parameters on which the new program is based. Simplicity of the program is the key element now."

Company had recently introduced certain changes in its partner program.  The company has removed the registered partner category and has introduced a new category called enrolled partners. However,  these partners will not be able to resell products. On positive note, the company has overhauled its incentive plan across all categories of channel partners working with company.  The changes will be effective after the 1st week of May 2014.

VMWare is planning to invest $500 mn in india over the next 3 years to help fund its growing operations in this market.
