VMware to add 30 partners in tier-2 cities

Along with the expansion of partner network in tier – 2 cities, VMware India also plans to increase the profit of its partners.

VMware, one of the leading players in virtualization and cloud infrastructure, is now primarily focusing to create business avenues for its channel partners in the Indian SMB market. "Seeing the growth of our channel business pan India, we have decided to expand our partner network in tier -2 cities in the country by adding about 30 partners to the existing base. Apart from expanding our channel base, we are also organizing several partner enablement and incentive programs to encourage their go-to-market strategies," said Ganesan Arumugam, director, Channels & Alliances, VMware India.

Currently, there are about 80 active partners with the company who caters to the Indian SMB market for further business growth. The vendor also conducts training and enablement program every quarter of a financial year to further educate its partners in enhancing its go-to-market strategies even with the high-end products in the price market like India. Recently, the vendor conducted a Partner Exchange on Tour 2012 held in Mumbai, wherein over 750 partner attendees took advantage of the opportunity to learn how to grow and transform their businesses for the cloud era with VMware. The tour that kicked off in Mumbai will also cover Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai and Colombo and is expected to attract more than 1,500 senior executives, sales professionals and technical experts from VMware's community of solution providers, technology alliances, systems integrators, distributors and OEMs in the region.

A Partner Executive Forum was also held for VMware's leading partner organizations to understand and participate in the market opportunity with VMware. The vendor also conducts training and enablement program every quarter of a financial year to further educate its partners in enhancing its go-to-market strategies even with the high-end products in the price market like India.
