The global leader in
virtualization and cloud infrastructure,

has acquired
NeoAccel. NeoAccel's SSL VPN-Plus product line combines the
performance of IPsec VPNs with the benefits of SSL VPN technology,
including increased security, simplified management, and reduced cost
of ownership.
This acquisition dovetails
into VMware's strategy to shape and deliver the next era of IT
(cloud computing) by enabling customers to deploy secure private and
hybrid clouds and offer secure access to applications and virtual
desktops from any device, anywhere. At VMworld 2010, the company has
launched the VMware vShield family of products, introducing a central
component of this strategy: virtualization-aware security to protect
the edge of hybrid clouds as well as the applications and virtual
desktops running on them.
“NeoAccel's solutions
complement this strategy and offer several interesting integration
opportunities. NeoAccel's SSL VPN-Plus will add user VPN
technology, which enables secure, high-performance access to cloud
environments. These new capabilities and our continued collaboration
with leading security vendors will ultimately enable automated,
end-to-end security, privacy and compliance for hybrid cloud
environments for our customers,” said Allwyn Sequeira, CTO and
VP-Security and Networking Solutions, VMware
NeoAccel was founded and
led by industry veteran Michel Susai, Former Founder of NetScaler.
Michel has assembled a strong team of network/security domain
experts, who have built a compelling, next generation secure access
solution. “We expect to integrate the NeoAccel product line into
the VMware vShield family of products, and the NeoAccel team will
join VMware's Cloud Infrastructure Business Unit. We welcome them
to the VMware family, and look forward to continuing to deliver on
our 'better security with virtualization' promise,” concluded
Sequeira.
