Viva Communications, a converged
communication solutions provider for businesses across the world, has
ventured into IT-based surveillance products. With its headquarters
in UK, Viva entered the Indian market in 2008 and has already
established its footprints in the whole of South India.
Srinivasan S, Director, Viva, said, “We
offer a complete range of communication solutions. We also manage
telecom infrastructure, in which a lot of Indian SMEs lack
expertise.” Commenting on potential business verticals, he said,
“IP-based products cater to almost all verticals. We have customers
ranging from IT to shipping, mining etc. Today, who ever is in need
of converged communication solutions, we provide them with customized
solutions.”

surveillance is a
unique product, which is only offered by Viva in India. Srinivasan
added, “Customers need not have any extra infrastructure in order
to implement this solution. This IT-based surveillance can link
multiple locations on a single screen. Even for IP cameras, customers
need not have proprietary software. They need a dedicated broadband
line connected to the camera and our servers will record the images
and process them. IT companies can use this as their security
measure. The solution is suitable for SMEs also since they need not
invest in servers, additional bandwidth, manpower etc.”
Viva plans to expand across India,
commenting on the current growth, Srinivasan said, “We want to make
sure our technical team is in place. IP solutions have its own
dependencies. Our churn of customers is less than one percent and our
growth is very concrete. We are generating more revenue per customer
instead of multiple customers. Right from networking to managed
telecom infrastructure, we are offering a whole gamut of solutions to
our customers.”
The company is promoting its solutions
in smaller cities through its partner programs. Anyone who is
interested in telecom infrastructure and IP surveillance products can
be part of Viva. Elaborating on this, Srinivasan said, “We will set
up the entire base for partners. Any one who is interested in
becoming an entrepreneur with a basic know-how about products or is
already an established player in proving similar solutions can
contact us. From providing capex to setting up reception towers, we
will provide all of that including technical expertise. Partners will
only have to take care of the operational activities. Revenue model
will be decided case-to-case basis and depending on the partner
relationship. We are also thinking of other initiatives like
conducting expositions, sponsoring meetings and holiday trips.” The
company is also looking forward to venturing into telecom
infrastructure management by expanding the channel base and the
product line.
