Samsung India has appointed Vineet Taneja as the country head, mobile and digital imaging business. He replaces Ranjit Yadav, who had quit Samsung in September 2012.
Prior to joining Samsung, Taneja was the operations director, Bharti Airtel, South India and Sri Lanka and managed all lines of business-mobile, fixed line voice, DSL and DTH-for the region. He is credited with successfully leading the launch of 3G and driving the data and devices business for Airtel in key regions of South India. He also successfully led the Bharti Airtel business in Sri Lanka over the past 18 months.
Speaking about his appointment, BD Park, President and CEO, Samsung South West Asia, said, "With his vast experience in managing the business and the ecosystem, I am confident that he will further consolidate our brand position and take it to the next level in the Indian market."
