Technologies has redefined its business strategy for its products

in

India. As per the new changes, the company has divided its products

range into 2 categories namely-'Core' and 'Mobility'. Each

category will be spearheaded by 2 national sales manager and 5

regional managers. Moreover, the company is aggressively entering into

retail space for its mobility products and announced new

tie-ups.

In an

exclusive interview with The DQWeek, Ajay Sharma, country

manager-India, ViewSonic, who recently took charge after the exit

of Gautam Ghosh said, “At ViewSonic, we have fundamentally changed

the previous business structure. Earlier, we have had a single

product category-'Core' for our monitors and projectors. In

addition to 'Core', we have added 'Mobility' category for

our range of tablets, smartphones, digital photo frames, etc. To

head the 'Core' product category we have appointed Deepak

Deveshwar, as the national sales manager and 5 regional mangers in

Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Bengaluru. The 'Mobility' business

team will be in place by the end of July.”

The 'Core'

business will continue to earn bread and butter for the company, but

future would be the 'Mobility' business. Sharma added, “We

never had any retail focus till date, but this year we are seriously

tapping this space for our brand visibility and expanding our reach

into top 40 cities. The 'Mobility' products will be handled by

both retail and IT channel partners. We have recently signed-up with

Iris Computers as an exclusive national distributors for our tablets

and smartphones, also with Reliance Retail for all range of products.

Iris will supply and bill directly to IT retailers and dealers.

Reliance will directly import the material from Taiwan.” Besides

this, ViewSonic is opening its own exclusive retail stores. “We are

trying to develop our retail business to a large extent. In the first

phase we will have our multi-product showroom in 40 keys cities in

India, within the next six months. We are looking at more than 20%

business revenues to come from our retail venture and rest from our

'Core' product line,” Sharma asserted.

For its

'Core' product line, the vendor will continue with its 4 existing

national distributors including Rashi, Roop, Inspan and Priya.

Instead of national presence, the company is planning to divide their

role as per the territories. “We want our national distributors to

have regional exclusivity instead of national presence. This will

help in having a clear cut MOP, better

understanding of each product, and focus on high-end products,”

said Sharma.

Apart from

that, the company has rolled out various

channel schemes like-'Sell More Travel More' and demo on discounts,

etc. “We insist our partners to focus more on monitors

with a range of 20-inch and above. We are looking at professional and

gamer segment for our high-end monitors. For our projectors we have

started tying-up with educational service providers and the

government,” he added.

When asked

about the tablet business, Sharma said, “We have sold close to 2500

pieces of our Wi-Fi tablets largely to schools. Fresh shipment is due

in the next 10days. For post-service support on hardware, we have

appointed Pacetel Communication, and for software repair, we are

looking at the best of the breed of service providers.” Sharma

concluded.
