After two-years of idling, Via Technologies has decided to
reopen its central-processing unit (CPU) production line while aiming at the
ultra mobile personal computers (UMPC). The move was prompted after Via received
orders from Japanese contract-computer supplier PBJ Inc for its C7-M ULV
processors. VIA'sC7-M ULV processor has a high power efficiency rate that
enables the ultra compact and ultra portable devices to run longer than any
available solutions in the today's market. Beside PBJ, Amtek, MoBITs and
PaceBlade ordered handsome orders of Via's VX700 chips. VIA has display several
sample products from its clients that were equipped with Via C7-M ULV processors
during the CeBIT exhibition.
