Germany-based HOB Software, a server-based computing solutions company with
its main focus on provi-ding secure remote access, has appointed Mumbai-based
Venmitra Systems as it official representative in India. The latter is a systems
integrator with expertise in providing networking and connectivity solutions.
According to the strategic alliance, Venmitra will provide HOB's full range
of software solutions, except the mainframe range, to customers in India through
a network of resellers and systems integrators that will be appointed soon.
Venmi-tra will start with the metros in the first year.
Commenting on the tie-up, Patrick Oliver Graf, Director of International
Sales, HOB said, "We have worked with Venmi-tra in the past and are happy
with their experience in the field of providing enterprise connectivity
solutions." Accor-ding to Dhananjay Kamath, CEO of Venmitra System, they
were the first ones to deploy thin clients solutions in the Indian Market.
"HOB's solu-tions are secure, reliable and easier to administer. This in
itself gives a big advantage over the other solutions available in the
market," said Dhananjay.
Currently, Citrix will be the only direct competition for HOB in connectivity
solutions business. Unlike Citrix, which has a office in India, HOB will not
setting up office immedia-tely in India, however, it has not ruled out any
future plans to do. "If we manage good numbers, we may consider setting up
office in the future. Considering the huge poten-tial this market provides, our
target to achieve a 5 percent marketshare in the first year would be more than
realistic. Our approach will not be to kick out Citrix, but be a standard
solution that can interoperate on all the platform," said Patrick.
HOB has trained Venmitra team to deploy and support HOB solutions. To promote
its products, the company will launch a series of branding and media cam-paign.
It will also conduct roadshows.
