Venktron employee dupes the firm, now on the run
The company is putting in all the efforts to nab the offender

Mumbai based Venktron Digital Systems has been duped by its employee for Rs 50 lakhs and now has been on the run for more than a year. The business firm is now at their wits' end and are putting in all efforts to nab this swindler.
Amarjeet Singh of Venktron Digital Systems said, "Dattatheraya Maruthi, who was the branch manager of our Chennai Office, is absconding from April 2012 after committing fraud, misappropriation of company's funds, criminal breach of trust, cheating, forgery and more."
As per the company official, Dattatheraya Maruthi was the branch manager of Chennai Branch office of our Company, Venktron Digital Systems. Singh said, "He was the authorized person to do all transactions with regards to Chennai Branch. From April 2012, the above person is absconding after doing misappropriation of company's funds, committing fraud and criminal breach of trust and cheating worth company's funds to the tune of Rs 50 lakh." He further added, "The attempts to find him from the residence and address given by him in the record at Nalam Guest House, 126, Big Street Triplicane, Chennai was not successful and his relatives at his native place are also not aware of whereabouts of him."
Maruthi had duped the company of 600 laptops by showing fake bills and submitting fake cheques.
A complaint and FIR case was also filed vide crime no.225/2012 against him with Inspector of Police, Central Crime Branch IX-A, EDF-II, Egmore, Chennai. Singh said, "The police are still not able to nab Maruthi and it seems the police are not serious about nabbing the culprit and there is no co-operation from the police department."
Apparently, this accused had got a bengaluru based reference to join at Venktron. As per company official, Maruthi had even duped him of Rs 7 lakhs and there are couple of other people whom he had duped over the years. Singh said, "As per our investigation, we got to know he was a chronic gambler and was involved in betting."
