In a bid to create awareness about IT, Nagpur-based Vidharbha Computer
Manufacturers and Dealers Welfare Association (VCMDWA) is all set to start an
eight-page newsletter. The newsletter would be subscription-based, and
subscribers would have to pay a nominal fee.

“The name of the newsletter is yet to be decided. We are targeting to start
it by April,” said Prashant Ugemuge, President, VCMDWA.

He further informed that the publication would be entirely focused on the end
users, with the aim to provide an update on the IT industry. The organization
has already set-up a committee to take care of the content for the newsletter.
The eight-member committee would be assigned one page each. There would be a
separate page entirely focused on the student community.

VCMDWA is also contemplating to start an e-paper, to save cost. But gave up
the idea as the number of channel partners who read up on the net is very low,
especially in a city like Nagpur. As a result the organization has given up the
idea and settled on starting a newsletter instead.

Nagpur channel community is excited about the new initiative. Sudhir Budhay
of Business Algorithm, said, “I really appreciate this step. It will certainly
help the community as well as the customer. The eight pages will be very
different and have exciting content including Q&As, software, games etc, which
will be very helpful and useful for the end customers as well.” Budhay added
that he would do his bit to contribute to the success of the newsletter.
