Seeing the growing IT trade in Nagpur, Vidarbha Computer and Media Dealer's Welfare Association (VCMDWA) has decided to hold a Summer IT expo in the city by July this year.
Commenting about this Summer COMPEX, Vinod Verma, Secretary, VCMDWA said, "It will be one of the biggest IT exhibitions in the Central India. With this initiative, the association aims to increase IT trade in the city wherein the partners get a better platform to showcase their products. For this summer expo, we would be investing about Rs. 25-30 lakhs to make it a bigger and a successful IT exhibition with about 50 stalls."
According to the association, it will be a four day event. When asked about the theme for this suumer expo, Verma said, "In this summer COPMEX, we would be focusing on the frequently changing IT trends, technologies, customer preferences and choices with its impact on IT partners. But, as of now, we have not zeroed down on any particular theme."
With the growing demand of this summer IT exhibitions, VCMDWA is expecting footfalls of about I lakh this year. It had also received huge response last year from its member companies and external agencies. It is since four years that they are conducting these summer IT exhibitions. The association is expecting visitors from academic and training institutions, student community, SOHO segment, professionals, home segment, corporates, MNCs, software companies, BPOs, SMBs, central and state government to attend this 4 day IT exhibition.
Further explaining the significance of this Summer IT expo for Nagpur student population, Verma said, "Our Summer COMPEX is aptly timed for the student population of Nagpur, wherein the expo will provide adequate exposure in the best interests of students," said Verma. He also added that there would be several Indian and MNC IT giants like Delll, HP, Acer and many more taking part in the summer expo to showcase their latest products for SOHO as well as corporate users.
