VAIT organizes seminar on structured cabling

VAIT (Vellore Association of Information and Technology) recently organized a technical seminar on structured cabling on the eve of the association's fourth general body meeting on 15 July, 2012. C. Arumugam, CEO. Intech Computers, was the resource person.

In his presentation, Arumugam briefed about the basics of structured cabling, components involved, types of cable as per the need and requirements, Switches, Modules, the way of laying and terminating the network points. He also discussed about the business opportunities and the ways of tapping opportunities. He clearly depicted the preparation of schematic wiring diagram, location of points and rack arrangements. This really would help the members to gain technical knowledge to approach the customers.

"The members, who attended the seminar, really appreciated his efforts on demonstrating such a wonderful presentation. Also they acknowledged the advantages of the seminar which imparted the knowledge from the scrap of preparing the quotation till the implementation of a project.", said S.R.Ramesh, Secretary, VAIT.

"Further to the interest of the members, we decided to conduct a separate practical section on structured cabling in our technical seminar meeting. We will arrange to conduct the training program by an expertise with technical and live practical demonstration to understand in depth about structured cabling." he further added. This session was lasted for one and half hours.

"Structured cabling, if done as per standard, has a lot of advantages and there is a need for safety factor among the partners. Even though many partners are not aware about the structured cabling business, I can see lot of partners who were selling only laptops and desktops showed enthusiasm over the structured cabling business", said C.Arumugam to ‘The DQ Week'. Arumugam also told that he is willing to conduct even more seminars if the other associations request.
