www.upelection.com. The portal will provide information about the state politics and an in-depth analysis of the political scenario of the politically most activated state of the country.

"The portal will be based in Lucknow and we are going to launch it in the first week of January 2002", said, Rafat Ali, MD and Chief Editor of the portal. "We have also introduced a chatting platform, which will bridge the gap between the politicians and the common man. With the help of the chatting platform a common man can chat with the top politicians of the state," he added.

The company is also planning to launch an all India politics based portal www.electionindia.com after the elections in February 2002. "We are working on this all India political portal, which would further strengthen our initiative in this direction. In addition to that we are also going to launch our newspaper UP post from Lucknow, both the portal and the newspaper will compliment each other in terms of news," he opined.

Graphics Infotech has developed the site in association with Allahabad-based Global Media. The company has invested around Rs 60 lakh for the development of the portal and is also setting up its office in Lucknow. With a network of about 100 correspondents spread all over the state of Uttar Pradesh, the portal is all set to make its presence felt for the coming elections in February 2002.
