Channel partners in Bhopal who were cheated by Ujjain-based Choice Computers
owned by Sirsih Sathe, got some respite after the accused was arrested. Sathe
will now be produced in court on July 4 for cheating eight channel partners in
Bhopal worth Rs 8 lakh. The channel partners duped by Sathe are Bit & Byte
Computers, Wish Tech, Popular Tech Media, Latest Device, Narmada Marketing,
Milestone Computers, SS Infotech and Myphone.
Giving details on the case, Ashish Jain, President, Bhoj IT and Office
Automation Association (BITOAA) informed, “The accused opened their office in
Bhopal three months back and started dealing with top computer dealers. Sathe
dealt in cash and cheque against delivery with each of the dealers in the first
month and later on started dealing with post-dated cheques (PDCs) only. Most of
the dealers delivered the material to him for PDCs. But after he collected the
material worth Rs 8 lakh, he absconded and his whereabouts were non-traceable.”
Commenting on the issue, Jain said, “Our dealer fraternity is shocked by the
incident and stand united with all our members who are facing the crisis. With
the help of the police the racket will be exposed very soon. We are also coming
up with a credit policy for our members to avoid such incidents in future.”
Sharing details about the accused, Ashutosh Gour, Proprietor, Bit & Byte
Computers, one of the partners allegedly cheated by Sathe said, “The police
arrested him from Ujjain on June 20. When the police interrogated him, Sathe
admitted that the entire plan was made in association with Ajit Nahar, another
member of the gang who has been doing similar fraud activities with other
people.”
After the FIR was filed at the police station, the police investigated the
case and arrested Sathe from Ujjain.
A case has been filed under sections IPC 420 and 34 against Sathe.
