TVS Electronics Ltd has announced its entry into South Asian, Middle East and
South African markets. The company views this initiative as an important step
forward in operationalizing its long-term strategy. TVS-E foresees the
international sales to contribute five percent to the overall revenue in its
product and solutions business group with in the next few quarters.
TVSE has strengthened its presence in these regions through various local
distribu-tion arrangements namely, Ingram Micro for the SAARC countries, Jumbo
Electronics for UAE and TVR Computers for South Africa.
The company has also app-ointed local business partners in these regions for
its sales and support programs. The products being launched in these mar-kets
would include language enabled Dot Matrix Printers, 'the Bill Printer Proton',
its Ribbon Cassettes, InkBank cartridges and bilingual key boards.
On this Initiative, S Swami-nathan, President (International Market
Development), TVSE said, "The initial response from the South Asian markets
has been very encouraging. Our unique cost advantages con-tribute significantly
towards a lower cost of ownership to the customers. Besides small and medium
enterprises, institu-tional customers including banks and government houses will
form a significant size of our target markets in these regions. We believe that
our experience and learning over a decade in understanding the customer needs
would enable us to offer products to each of these country's specific
requi-rements and expectations".
TVSE has already made its presence in various trade shows in 2004, such as
CeBit in Hanover- Germany, Futurex in Johannesburg- South Africa, Gitex in Dubai
- UAE, Indo-Lanka trade show in Colombo- Sri Lanka, BCS Show in Dhaka-
Bangladesh and the ITCN Asia in Karachi- Pakistan.
