TVSE appoints six new RDPs in the north

Upcountry markets must be happy basking in the recent interests shown by

major vendors, who are trying to move away from the metros and concentrate more

on B and C class cities. TVS Electronics in a recent initiative, has appointed

six Regional Distribution Partners (RDPs) in Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu

& Kashmir.

Elaborated Harish KB, Zonal Manager (North), TVSE, "The whole purpose of

appointing these sub-distis or RDPs as we call them, is to increase our focus on

the upcountry mar-kets and get more leverage." While the current focus of

the company has mostly been on the metros, he is confident that by next year,

the upcountry will contribute close to 40 percent of the revenue. TVSE is also

looking at Srinagar to extend its reach; while in Haryana the process of looking

for RDPs is underway.

To increase awareness am-ong the channel community, the company is holding

dealer meets in a number of B and C class cities like Jammu, Bhat-inda,

Ganganagar, Bhilwara, Ferozpur, Hoshiarpur, Yamunanagar, Haridwar, Haldwani,

Meerut etc. It will also impart product training at these meet. Apart from this,

it has already launched the ‘Navratri to New Year’ scheme for the channels.

Meanwhile, TVSE is all set to launch a 50 seater National Call Center (toll

free number being 1600444566) on the 15th of this month. Said Harish, "To

increase our support to our customers, we have planned to come out with our own

call center." Earlier, the company had outsourced this service. Taking into

account the multi-cultural country that India is, the company will be using

multi-lingual language soft-ware for the convenience of the customers, so that

whatever language the customer uses,


he/she will get the desired service without any language barrier.

Harish also informed that as consumables is a major growth area, the company

has plans to open consumable stores next year. In addition, its new Point Of

Sale (POS) product will be officially launched in the next quarter.
