Trichy Information Technology Association (TITA), an offshoot association of
Association for Computer Traders, Trichy (ACTT) is waiting for Confed-ITA's call
to become a part of the association's state body. Recently, the association got
itself registered formally, which is mandatory for any regional association to
be a part of Confed-ITA.
Informing that the association has been requesting Confed to include it
within the state body, Theerthanathan, President, TITA said that members had
taken all the steps required to become a part of Confed. “We had appealed to
Confed long time ago, after forming a new association. However, they asked us to
resolve our differences with ACTT and dissolve our own association, which we
could not do. Later, we were asked to register our association and seek an entry
into Confed, and we have done that recently,” Theerthanathan said.
He also said that the formation of the new association a couple of years back
was due to difference of opinion among the members, which were irreconcilable.
“We have nearly 20 members in our association and are helping them in whatever
ways we can to support their business. Our association only accepts those
members, who trade with registered TIN numbers,” Theerthanathan added.
Confed-ITA claimedthat each region can have only one association, which can
be a part of its state body. “I have received a request from the TITA and have
passed it on to the executive committee of Confed for approval,” informed PN
Prasad, President, Confed-ITA.
