Pune based Traxvision India, provider of com-plete range of low-end to high-end professional MPEG products and solutions, has tied up with US-based Minerva Networks Inc, for the distribu-tion of its products in India.
Traxvision has been appoin-ted as the channel partner for the entire range of Minerva products. These include the Minerva VNP–an MPEG enco-der/decoder that is optimized for video distribution over IP networks, which according to Sunil Khanna, Director, Trax-vision India, was its flagship product accounting for 90 percent of the total sales.
The other products that are distributed include the Minerva MediaGateway–a system des-igned to efficiently demultiplex DVB-ASI signals and distribute individual programs over broadband IP networks. The Minerva VideoConcentrator 8000 (VC8000) is a carrier class platform that combines MPEG encoding and satellite based video content processing into a single high-density modular chassis.
The Minerva IP Television Lab is a complete end-to-end IP television head end that allows network operators to evaluate interactive television services prior to full commercial deploy-ment. Explaining the rationale behind the company’s move, Khanna said that the tie-up was a result of the sudden demand in the streaming requirements in India over the past year.
Traxvision also has tie-ups with Abtec, for its encoders and with Vela Research, for its PC-based solutions. Khanna said that the company has charted a roadmap that ensures a pre-sence in such specialized produ-cts. “The company also has plans to enter into the audio str-eaming segment and video on demand market at a later stage,” he added.
