Transworld Group of companies, Dubai-based shipping major and Chennai-based TAKE solutions have entered into a Joint Venture to form Crescent TAKE. This 60:40 joint venture will offer corporates integrated logistics solution.
Crescent TAKE will offer end to end supply chain fulfillment solutions with a comprehensive range of services that include single window concept - which includes door to door services, packing, pick up, freight forwarding, primary transportation (land-air-sea), storage (warehousing) and secondary transportation.
As the first roll out of Crescent TAKE, the JV has launched Chennai Hub, India's first multi-user facility near Chennai at an initial investment of Rs 1.5 crore. The company plans to start similar warehouses according to necessity either by themselves or through tie-ups.
V Ramnarayan, Vice Chairman and MD, Transworld said, "Crescent TAKE will be the only company which will offer al the components ie shipping, freight forwarding, warehousing, transportation etc under one roof and will be a true integrator in the real sense. The strength of the JV lies in bringing together the international expertise of Transworld along with its network of 108 offices in 33 locations in India and customer base of 15,000 with the domain (supply chain) expertise of TAKE solutions which will offer better inventory control, reduction in logistics cost, faster time to delivery and better storage facility."
Crescent TAKE would provide its customers, information about inventory at their desk as its software is on ASP and the software can be customized as per customer's unique requirements. Also, the software can be integrated to any ERP like SAP, AS 400 or JD Edwards.
