TransEd to open 6 centers in 2001

Chennai-based high-end IT training school TransEd Software Education, an affiliate of the US-based software consulting company TranSys Technologies Corporation, has charted out major expansion program for the current year. In the next couple of months, the company will be appointing three franchisees in Tamil Nadu for providing IT education, apart from opening three more centers in Bangalore by mid-2001. TransEd also plans to open a branch office in the US for offering corporate training.

"Our two successful programs, Advanced eCommerce and Enterprise Java Plus would be revived shortly to offer the best course package and latest in technology for the students," said A Namburaj, Assistant Vice President, TransEd Software Education.

The company plans to take franchisee route while expanding geographically and two more centers to be opened in Chennai soon. "We are in the advanced stages of negotiations with the prospective business partners and a center in Coimbatore is also on the cards," said Namburaj. In Bangalore, TransEd will have one own center and two franchisee operated units, functioning from mid-2001.

"We are in the process of forming a core team here which would be exported to the US, to offer corporate training program there," he said. Already, the company has offered corporate training in the US (executed four orders from here) on per job basis and plans to establish full-fledged training center there, with Chennai office being the head quarters. In the US, TransEd will also focus on the working IT professionals market who would go for high-end programs to upgrade their skill sets.

While enhancing the present courses, the company plans to add WAP module, few eCom tools and some components from Microsoft's .Net program.

TransEd has registered a revenue of Rs 1.25 crore for the last fiscal and targets a turnover of Rs 3 crore by March 2001.
