Traders meet VAT dept chaired by Manish Sisodiya

Budget has come and partners showed their diverse reactions on the same. To discuss the issues that traders community is facing and finding the solution all Delhi-Trade wings had a meet with VAT department on March 7 at Delhi Secretariat. The meeting was attended by hon'ble acting chief minister Manish Sisodia, AAP spokesperson Raghav Chaddha, Rajesh Gupta (MLA), VAT Commissioner Sanjiv Khirwar, (Special Commissioner, DVAT) Tyagi, ADCTA President Mahender Agarwal and general secretary Swarn Singh, AAP Coordination Committee and other trade associations from different trades.

The main agenda of discussion was issues of traders with VAT department in which all the trade wings actively raised their voice to reach the depth of problem.

The following issues were highlighted: Input VAT Credit will be carried forward to next quarter, 2A-2B matching will be made simplified and VAT department will be working on it actively soon, form R9 is kept on hold till 30th June 2015, VAT refunds will be made more systematic and timely refunds would be issued to dealers and form T2 will be removed.

In response to all this, the Hon'ble Acting Chief Minsiter Manish Sisodia assured that they will be forming a committee to resolve these issues as soon as possible after consultation with Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and DVAT Department.

Also, Sh. Manish Sisodia has requested traders to deposit tax ethically and on-time. He also pointed out that AAP party has got majority of 67 seats not just to rule Delhi as previous government was doing by just forwarding the files as a routine. Delhi people and specially traders have given majority to AAP party to change the system, change the mind set of Government towards traders. “As per AAP government, traders are backbone to the system which contributes approx. 67% of revenue and we will use this money to serve people of Delhi and make Delhi best hub for traders,” said Manish Sisodia.

Moreover Swarn Singh, secretary, ADCTA has raised the issue of unethical trade practices adopted by OLS and briefed the house about indirect entry of FDI in retail through e-tailers. He also explained its impact on Delhi and whole trade community. He also especially focused on huge generation and use of black money through some unethical practice which is somewhere creating revenue loss for Delhi government.

Issues were heard and pointed down carefully by authorities present in the meeting. Manish Sisodia has assured the house that they will take decision by 20th March after consultation with hon'ble Chief Minister Sh. Arvind Kejriwal and Sanjiv Khirwar - Commissioner, DVAT
